Department of Allied Sciences

Fields of engineering are closely related to applied sciences. Applied science is important for technology development. Its use in industrial settings is usually referred to as research and development (R&D). This discipline dealing with the art or science of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems. Technology includes the use of materials, tools, techniques, and sources of power to make life easier or more pleasant and work more productive. Science is concerned with how and why things happen while technology focuses on making things happen.

The department of Applied Sciences aims to provide a strong foundation in the fundamental sciences.

  • - Demonstrate laboratory skills in basic sciences and develop the ability to approach current societal issues from a scientific perspective.

Mathematics is an integral part of most branches of engineering. All engineers need to be able to formulate practical engineering problems in mathematical terms. They must also be capable of solving the mathematical models, if necessary with the aid of a computer, and of interpreting the solutions and understanding the practical implications. It is important to maintain the correct balance between theory and practice, analysis and synthesis, and logical solutions and intuition.

It is the discipline devoted to creating and optimizing engineering solutions through enhanced understanding and integrated application of mathematical, scientific, statistical, and engineering principles. The discipline is also meant for cross-functionality and bridges the gap between theoretical science and practical engineering with emphasis in research and development, design, and analysis.

Chemistry is the back bone of various industries; one can know the objective of Applied Chemistry as, “The application of the theories and principles of chemistry to practical purposes”. “Applied Chemistry is the brass tack of engineering that deals with the technology of large-scale chemical production and the manufacture of products through chemical processes.”

Communication & Professional skills in English make an integral part of the Engineering Curriculum. In the today’s world of globalization & competition in an international market, the need of command over English Language & polished communication skills is highly felt. Therefore this subject fulfills the need of the hour. The faculty of English is highly skilled at motivating and inspiring the students. It prepares our students to face the world with required confidence & grit.

Ethical considerations have become more important in our environment, since all humans are moral agents and we cannot avoid the involvement of ethical issues in every activity that we take part in. Industries/companies has much to do with relations, relations between employees, relations between company and customer, and the importance of creating long-term relationships with customers.
